1969 Omega Constellation Chronometer Ref. 168. 045, Cal. 751
Item History & Price
I am selling my 1969 Omega Constellation wristwatch, reference168.045 – 368.845. It comes in anawesome jumbo tonneau stainless steel case with a white gold bezel and has whatis likely its original integrated 1155 bracelet attached. It has the highly regarded Omega chronometercaliber 751 powering this beauty, one of Omega’s last great in-house movements. I do not know the last time this watch wasserviced, but it keeps excellent time for me. In fact, this might... be my most accurate watch yet. It has a center sweep seconds hand, and showsthe day and date at the 3 o’clock position. The day wheel is in Spanish. Thewatch also has the quick set date feature. The dial is a beautiful silver with applied Omega symbolbelow the 12 o’clock position and the words Constellation and AUTOMATIC belowthat. OMEGA and CHRONOMETER OFFICIALLYCERTIFIED above the 6 o’clock position and SWISS MADE just below the 6 o’clock. Gorgeous black enamel hour markers at everyhour position, except the 12 o’clock with has the double marker and the 3 o’clockwith the day/date window. The case shows well for its age, but does have lightscratches and dings. Nothing too deep, probably indicating a polish sometime in its life. The chamfers are a little rounded and wouldsupport that. Has it’s signed originalcrown. Steel screw-down caseback shows avery good Constellation medallion; some tool marks on the back. Inside caseback shows the reference number. The case is 36mm wide without the crown, 40.5mmlug to lug, and 11mm thick including the crystal. The bracelet has some stretch, but it easilyfits my wrist at just under 7” and there are plenty of micro-adjustment holes inthe clasp to make it larger if need be. I also have 2 extra links you can use to make the band larger. But they are not the easily removable kind, they had to be pried apart. The crystalis nice and clear as well, with no scratches or cracks. There is a small cloudy area just above theday/date window that does not affect visibility. It is difficult to see, hence difficult toimage, but I think the second to last pic shows it as best as I could get it.I try to describe my watches as best as I can and don’t hideanything. Please ask any questions youhave and if you need more pictures, just let me know. I cannot guarantee the timekeeping of thiswatch in the future, but it functions perfectly now.
