Black-Faced and Stainless Steel w/ white markers & * arms. It has an acrylic domed crystal . Among the oldest quartzes in existence , the quartz being commercially available in 1974. Quartzes are affected by temperature, and the early high-end King Quartzes had thermo-compensation switches that could be turned on & off. A few years and with experience, Seiko decided to incorporate it into the watch and named them the Quartz Type II and ...was meant for Japanese Domestic Market only. They produced a North American version of it that was called the 4004. These have the 3 three-quarter quartz logo, or early quartz, which were the best built quartzes ever
