Great artifact from an old funeral home, in operation in the early 20th century, to the 1930s. The mortuary was located in northeast, was abandoned briefly and is now privately owned and occasionally offered for paranormal investigation groups. A large late Victorian home on a shady street, it was purchased and became a funeral business before eventually reverting to a private residence again for several years and various owners. Activity in the latter home included doors, cabinet...s and windows opening and closing, lights and radios turning on and off, flickering and fading, knocking at the front door at odd hours and other annoying though considered minor disturbances. Investigations on the property have revealed problems within the family that ran the mortuary, including alcoholism, a son who did not wish to work in the family business, a daughter who 'ran away' from home (or eloped depending on the source) and the suspected suicide of the matriarch. It is entirely possible that there were other darker secrets yet to be discovered.When the business closed, a great deal of equipment, etc. was left behind and has over the years found its way into private collections, like my own. I have collected funerary items for decades and will be offering selected pieces on eBay. Listed as an artifact, the pieces from this NJ location carry some definite residual energy easily felt in its presence. We feel it makes an excellent object for study. NOTE: as I was writing that last mention, a box of metal embalming tools from the same location fell off the counter, with no one and nothing to move it! Those will be the next items I list!Bottle is glass, 7" tall with most of its foil label in tact, and some nasty residue still in the bottom. The lid has had a hole punched in-- long ago-- to drain the contents, but whether this was done doing regular business, which seems odd, or simply to empty old liquid is at present unknown. The third option is that the contents were used for something illegal regarding drugs. This was its condition when I obtained it.
