Relisted for the third time due to another non payment/buyer not understanding the fundamental basics of an auction..The watch has now been listed as a buy it now as I refuse to go through another week of having the watch listed on an auction, answering questions, sending pics etc, only after all that for someone to win and not pay! It'll be on a buy it now for a couple of days, if it doesn't sell I shall put it back on the shelf for another time.Here we have for sale a vintage gents O...mega Geneve watch, featuring the cal.1022 automatic movement with day/date function. Prior to listing the watch, the movement was treated to a full strip down, clean and service (carried out literally 2 weeks prior to listing). The day/date was slightly out of alignment so this was also corrected at the same time, the watch was then timed over a period of a couple of days with no noticeable loss of time. As the service was carried out by a friend I don't have any receipts for this, however I do have images taken throughout the process which I would be happy to pass on to the winning bidder. As the images show, the condition of the movement is also representative of having been worked on recently.The movement starts easily, runs well, the hacking feature works exactly as it should. Mechanically, the watch is in very good health and with it just being serviced you are now good for 5 years + before the next service interval (and in reality, probably a lot longer).
In terms of the watch's overall cosmetic condition, I was describe the watch as in very good vintage condition, with a few minor things to call out in the interests of complete honesty:- General marks consistent with age and general use- Some wear on the dial, definitely not of the kind that I would suggest warrants a resto/replacement. Actually quite characterful to my eye- A mild 'crease' on the first link in the strap - There is an issue with the quick set date setting. The problem is quite a simple one - it will only click back or forward 3 dates using the quick set feature. You can cycle through the dates by advancing the hands absolutely fine, and it certainly changes during normal running, it's just the quick set feature that doesn't fully function. Otherwise the watch is in very good order.It's been suggested to me that the strap might be an aftermarket replacement rather than the original Omega item. I can't comment on this seeing as I've not owned an Omega with this strap before, so I will sell on the basis it IS aftermarket to avoid any disappointment. The strap is quite large and I believe probably contains all the original links, I have purposely left this as is with the idea that the winner bidding can size the strap to suit.The crown is the correct signed Omega crown.A classic vintage Omega automatic, very much ready for any watch collection.Good luck and happy bidding!
