Circa 1890 Double End Gold Toothpick And Ear Spoon Slide Mechanism

This is for an American made, gold filled, double ended, toothpick and ear spoon combination. It dates to circa 1890. There is a slide ring for each instrument. When each ring is slid along the hexagonal case it reveals either the pick or spoon. Both instruments can be extended out of the case at the same time.There is a small cartouche that has never been engraved. I suspect that the case is gold filled and that the instruments are a low-medium carat solid go...ld. The slide rings move completely along the body but are a bit stiff. The last image is from a catalog from 1891 from a Chicago department store. The case is 2.4 inches long with the pick and spoon retracted. It is 4" long with both tools fully exposed.It is in good-very good condition. See images for condition. Questions are welcome.
