14" Antique BYE-LO Bisque Head signed, stamped body Grace S. Putnam 1920's. Celluloid hands intact. Right hand has a bit of discoloration in the palm. ( See picture)Head has three little stains on right hand side about a 3/4 inch behind the ear on the neck., nose has a little 1/16 inch line on the middle of it, a few "dots' of stain coral color above the lips and one little dot of coral color on the forehead. There may be slight very light scratches, rubs, but nothing reall...y noticeable ( to me, at any rate) Please see pictures makers mark on back of head reads " Copr by Grace S. Putnam " Stamp on fabric body Reads a number ending in "57, PAT AT" faded then " OR"then"COPY AT GRACE STOREY PUTNAM " ( Please see photos)Eyes open and close easily.Eyes have no issues, maybe a bit dusty eyelids.
Has a layette which seems to be nylon which needs TLC ( lot of darning at the back and sleeves, was hand washed in Woolite, needs repair!) It used to smell like a grandma's attic, so had to hand wash, air dry.The dress has a liner, which is sleeveless and acts like a slip. It may be thin silk or silky nylon, and closes at the back neck with a snap. The dress and bonnet "match" in the lace and detail, but they are anything but perfect, but I believe they could be original, but you collectors of these would know best about this, whether it is a benefit or not.I have a cleaner nylon layette dress, but does not close at the back of the neck, and no bonnet, but you can see it in my other items for sale.
I bought this at an local estate sale, it was in a "turkey box", actually two boxes that were handsewn together.My Mom (born in 1923) had a few dolls stashed away in the same way when I was a girl, guess boxed turkeys were a gift from employers, and you couldn't just run down to Walmart for a storage box, so, I was intrigued by what "dolls" might be inside. But I digress!A smaller doll body (in the same fabric style) only and weighted eyes were in the same box and listed, please see other listings. I will always combine shipping. I know sometimes shipping can go high, but this is out of my control.

Condition is, very "Used and not perfect" and quite authentic, I think! . Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.The box is a big enough to keep the doll form getting damaged in shipping, and I do wrap really well.
