Antique Pressed Metal Doll African American Stuffed Body

I will start by writing that I know nothing about dolls but every now and then one catches my eye. This one I noticed because it has a pressed metal head and it is a dark skin tone.
The doll measures about 16 inches long. The head is metal with the extremities appear to be some kind of composite. The body is stuffed cotton or linen. There is a hollow ring under the cloth of the middle back.
The doll is in solid condition but does show its age......the brown paint is missing in spots and there are some tears in the cotton/linen body. The edges of the legs and arms which seem to be some kind of composite show wear. The eyes still open and close though they are kind of slow to move.
