POKOT EAST AFRICAN HEADREST - KENYA 
The basis of social and political organizationis an age-set system which forms the Pokot into a rigidly controlledhierarchical society. Ritual, judicial and political authority rests with theoldest men. Initiation into this system is by the ceremony of sapana at whichthe initiate spears an ox, ceremonially adopts the blue mudpack hairstyle, andis given a headrest.
