Colorful, eye catching antique majolica plate by Schramberg Villeroy Boch. A stylized fan in cobalt and aqua with raised flowers fills the top half. A pretty tasseled cord flows from its pivot. The lower half shows a gracefully sweeping vine with leaves and blossoms. It is edged with a Greek key pattern. 8 inches diameter. Marked on reverse with Villeroy and Bosh imprint, 1883-1912.
Conditon: numerous flakes from the high points and small chips on the rim. One rim chip is long...er and is photographed in photo # 3. I see an old chip at 2 o'clock that has been glued, photo # 9. Never saw it when I purchased the plate in the late 90s! Despite its issues, the plate displays very well with its gorgeous colors and charming design.
