Karel Dvorak was born on May 19, 1887 in Prague where he became a pupil of his father, Jaroslav Antonín Dvorak. Dvorak worked with many people in many places, inlcuding, Eduard Heidegger in Linz, Antonín Pilar in Berlin, Georg Raur in Vienna, and Eugen Gärtner in Stuttgart. His work generally reflected the models of Stradivari, Guarneri del Gesú, and N. Lupot. Due to the intensive research he conducted, Dvorak was able to design his instruments with both precision and beauty. He often used purfling with a broad white inlay and very thick black lines. He also constructed his instruments with broad rounded edges, and scrolls that were cut deeply and sharply, lined with black, similar to the work of his uncle, Karel Boromäus Dvorak. His instruments have been particularly enjoyed and praised by the Czechs. Dvorak passed away on August 31, 1947, and though he was the last violin maker in the family, he was considered to be the best.Whatsapp/Viber: +420775419373WeChat: ArtstudiopragueThe violin is in a very good restored condition, without crack or other damages.
