Published monthly and includes all 24 consecutive issues from January, 1911 thru December, 1912. Vols. 12 and 13.
Comes from the personal library of Fred Ress and has his original bookplate on the inner front cover. Ress was a very... early employee of the Woodruff Printing Company operating in Lincoln, which was founded in 1887 and operated for 101 years before finally closing in 1988.
Measures 7” x 10”. 1196 pages. Includes a few illustrations and ads as well as a multi-part series on “A Valuable Treatise on Ruling, Forwarding, Finishing, Marbling and Gilt-Edging” by John J. Pleger, Foreman of Bindery, Manila, Philippines. Also includes a tipped in 7 page pamphlet on “Some Inconsistencies in Bookbinding” also written by John Pleger.
Includes lots of book binding related pieces, labor union notes and records, delegate reports from around the country, etc..
Bound in 3/4” leather with marbled cloth. The book shows some wear and rubbing to the covers and corners wit some light cracking starting in a few places along the outer hinges although the integrity of the covers and binding are unaffected.
Otherwise Excellent condition - binding tight - covers and pages very clean - no writing, soiling, odors, torn or folded pages, etc.
During this period the individual issue covers were uniform in nature and many of the issues were bound without covers which was commonplace during this period.
