2005 PIPER ARCHER III, 890 HOURS TT, XXX SMOH, AIR, GLASS PANEL, DAMAGED, CHEAP!THE ARCHER III IS A MORE MODERN VERSION OF THE VENERABLE ARCHER THAT STARTED IN 1976.UPDATES INCLUDE:A CLEANER METAL DASH LAYOUT, WITHOUT PLASTICOVERHEAD SWITCH PANEL LIKE THE MALIBU.MALIBU LARGE RAM’S HORN YOKES28 VOLT ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ALLOWS FOR LIGHTER WEIGHT COMPONANTS AND PROVIDING ENOUGH POWER FOR THE NEW STYLE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM.“LOPRESTI STYLE” COWL, WITH SMALL ROUND INLETS FOR REDUCED ...COOLING DRAGMODERN LEATHER SEATS AND 3 POINT BELTS AT ALL 4 STATIONS.LUMBAR ADJUSTMENTS FOR FRONT SEATS IN ADDITION TO THE VERTICALLY ADJUST FEATURE.EXTRA SOUND DEADENING, FOR THE QUIETEST CABIN IN GENERAL AVIATION!REVISED SIDE WINDOW AND WINDSHIELD PROFILES FOR A SLEEKER, “NEWER” LOOKTHE ARCHER III STILL USES THE VENERABLE LYCOMING 0-360A4M ENGINE, SO RELIABILITY IS NOT DEMINISHED FROM THE ARCHER OF OLD.THE EARLY ARCHER III USED STEAM GUAGES, BUT LIKE THE CIRRUS SR-22, THE SARATOGA AND THE MALIBU, THEY CONVERTED TO AVIDYNE DUAL GLASS SCREENS IN THE EARLY 2000’S.THE BIG SCREEN MFD/PFD/ENGINE INSTRUMENTATION CHANGES THE AIRCRAFT DRASTICLY, BUT UNLIKE BEECHCRAFT, PIPER NEVER CHANGED THE DESIGNATION, IT’S STILL AN ARCHER III, BUT BETTER THAN THE FIRST III’S.AS PIPER MADE THE ARCHER III ALONGSIDE THE WARRIOR, IN MOST CASES, THE WARRIOR WAS USED AS A TRAINER, ACCUMULATING HIGHER TIMES, WHILE THE ARCHER WAS PLUSHER AND OFTEN MORE FEATURE LADEN, AIMED AT THE PRIVATELY OWNED AND OWNER/FLOWN MARKET!SUCH IS THE CASE WITH THIS AIRCRAFT.THE MANHATTEN DOCTOR THAT OWNED THIS AIRPLANE HAS HAD IT MAINTAINED AT THE SAME NEW JERSEY PIPER DEALER EXCLUSIVELY FROM THE FIRST ANNUAL IN 2006 THROUGH THE 2019 ANNUAL!OPEN CHECKBOOK AT A TOP SHOP!DURING THE TIME HE OWNED THE AIRPLANE, THE DOCTOR HAD 3 INCIDENTS IN THIS AIRPLANE:MINOR IN 2009, SLIGHT BEND TO THE PROP (REPAIRED) AND FLAP HIT A RUNWAY LIGHT2014 A LITTLE MORE SERIOUS, MAJOR OVERHAULED THE ENGINE (TO NEW STANDARDS, WITH NEW LYCOMING CYLINDERS AND NEW MAGS) AND REPLACED THE ENGINE MOUNT. NOSEGEAR AND THE TAILSKID SKIN.AND THEN THIS YEAR, JUST AFTER THE 7/18/2020 ANNUAL INSPECTION, RPOP HIT THE GROUND, NOSEGEAR FOLDED BACK AND PUNCTURED THE FLOOR, WRINKLING THE RIGHT LOWER FIREWALL SKIN, LEFT MAIN GEAR WAS PULLED FROM THE LEFT WING, SO SKIN DAMAGE THERE, PLUS OUTBOARD SKINS.AND THAT IS THE WAY THIS AIRCRAFT IS OFFERED HERE!THE LEFT SPAR DOES NOT SHOW ANY DAMAGE TO THE BOLT HOLES, SPAR CAPS OR SPAR WEB IN THE AREA OF THE GEAR WELL.THE FLAP IS DAMAGED, BUT NOT TO THE EXTENT THAT IT DAMAGED THE FLAP HANGERS OR EVEN DAMAGED THE ACTUATING ROD.THE RMD WINGTIP IS MISSING IT’S GLASS, BUT THE UPGRADED LED TIP STROBE IS NOT BROKEN.THE AILERON DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE DAMAGED.THE FLOOR IS TORN UNDERNEATH THE CO-PILOT’S FEET, BUT NOT BACK AS FAR AS THE FORWARD WING CARRYTHROUGH CHANNELSTHE BELLY SKINS ARE ONLY DAMAGED ON THE RIGHT SIDE, AND THE LEFT HAT CHANNELS ARE ALSO UNDAMAGED.THERE IS NO OTHER DAMAGE TO THIS ENTIRE FUSELAGE !!!!!!!!!NO DAMAGE TO THE FUSELAGE SIDES, WING CARRYTHROUGHS OR FRONT OR REAR STUB SPAR ATTACHMENT POINTS.EVEN THE DAMAGED LEFT WING DID NOT PULL AWAY FROM THE FUSELAGE.NO DAMAGE TO THE CABIN, WINDOWS, DOOR, DOOR FIT, ETC.THE FIREWALL IS DAMAGED IN THE RIGHT LOWER QUADRANT FROM THE NOSEGEAR HITTING IT FROM THE BOTTOM.  THE WRINKLING DISAPPATES TO NONE AS YOU MOVE UP AND TO THE LEFT, AWAY FROM THAT CORNER.THE ENGINE MOUNT IS BENT WHERE IT HOLDS THE NOSEGEAR, BUT NOT AT THE ATTACH POINTS OR THE ENGINE PORTION.THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO THE FIBERGLASS LOWER OR UPPER COWLS!THE CENTER GEAR FAIRING, A SMALL BOLT ON PIECE ONLY, IS CRACKED.THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO THE STEP, AS THE RIGHT GEAR STAYED UP FULLY.NO DAMAGE TO THE AFT FUSELAGE, TAILCONE OR HORIZONTAL FOR THE SAME REASON.NO DAMAGE TO THE HORIZONTAL STABILATOR, THE VERTICAL FIN OR THE TRIM TABS.THERE IS A SMALL WRINKLE TO THE LOWER RUDDER SKIN, WHICH MAY HAVE BEEN PRE-EXISTING OR MAY HAVE BEEN WHILE DISASSEMBLING THE AIRPLANE.THE RIGHT SIDE WING, TIP, STROBE, FLAP AND AILERON ARE UNDAMAGED.THE LEFT GEAR IS NOT OBVIOUSLY DAMAGED, BUT IT IS WORTH A REALLY GOOD LOOK, BECAUSE IT CAME OFF THE WING UNDER DURESS.  THE NOSE GEAR FORK SIMILARILY CAME OFF OF THE NOSE CHROME, BUT A CURSORY EXAMINATION DOES NOT PROVE THAT THEY ARE DAMAGED.  THEY DESERVE A VERY GOOD LOOK.  THE NOSEWHEEL DOES NOT SHOW DAMAGE.THE PROP IS BENT ON ONE BLADE, NEAR THE TIP, AND SLIGHTLY ABRADED ON THE LEADING EDGE OF THAT TIP.  THE OTHER TIP DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE DAMAGED.THIS WAS A BRAND NEW PROP IN 2014, WITH ONLY 159 HOURS SINCE NEW, SO IT HAS NOT BEEN WORN OR SHAVED DOWN.THE POLISHED SPINNER AND BACKING PLATES APPEAR UNDAMAGED.SO THIS AIRCRAFT WILL REQUIRE LEFT WING REPAIR, LEFT FLAP REPAIR, LEFT TIP REPLACEMENT/REPAIRLEFT AND NOSE GEAR INSPECTION AN POSSIBLE PARTS REPLACEMENT, PROP REPAIR AND PROP STRIKE INSPECTION TO THE 159 HOUR SINCE MAJOR ENGINE.NO OTHER KNOWN DAMAGE TO THIS AIRPLANE!SO THE QUESTION YOU SHOULD BE ASKING IS, WHY DID THIS VERY REPAIRABLE, NOT HURT THAT BADLY, LATE MODEL AIRPLANE TOTAL?IT DID NOT!THE OWNER TOOK THE REPAIR PAYOUT OFFERED BY HIS INSURANCE COMPANY AND SOLD THE AIRPLANE DIRECTLY TO ME.  HE HAD BEEN INFORMED THAT HE WOULD NEVER BE INSURABLE IN THIS AIRPLANE AGAIN DUE TO THE SEVERAL MISHAPS OVER THE YEARS, SO HE HAD NO INCENTIVE TO HAVE IT REPAIRED.BUT YOU DO!!THE BOOK PRICE FOR THIS AIRPLANE IS $250, 000 PLUS, INCLUDING THE 2 SCREEN ENTEGRA SYSTEM, (INCLUDED), THE SKYWATCH TRAFFIC SYSTEM (INCLUDED), THE S-TEC 55X AUTOPILOT SYSTEM WITH ELECTRIC TRIM (INCLUDED), THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM (INCLUDED) AND LEATHER INTERIOR (INCLUDED)THE GARMIN 430’S, 340 AUDIO PANEL AND 330ES TRANSPONDER ARE NOT INCLUDED, BUT WE HAVE LEFT THE TRAYS AND CONNECTORS INSTALLED AND WIRED, NO CUT WIRES, AND EVEN THE WAAS ANTENNAS ARE INCLUDED!THE REPAIRS REQUIRED HERE ARE THE SAME AS YOU MIGHT DO FOR A 1977 ARCHER THAT WE SELL, BUT THE POTENTIAL VALUE RETURN IS 3-4 TIMES HIGHER!
