This is a sweet, tiny silk doll bodice. Trimmed with blue silk ruffles, as well as lace, it buttons in back, is lined with cotton, there is a braid applique in front. It's 9 3/8" around at the waist, about 3 1/8" across at the chest. The arm is 3" long. Very good overall, with some bleed from the selvage, which is visible on the pic of the inside, to the outside. Most of this is covered when the bodice is buttoned, but a small section remains, this should be visible in the pi...ctures of the back of the bodice.Any shadows or discoloration are from the lighting, the rest of the fabric is very good, with no splits, weaknesses, or tears, just the reddish "bleed" at the back. Buttons look to be milk glass.It looks as if it was always a bodice, with no sign that it was once part of a dress.1890's or thereabouts. One of two I will be listing.
