A well framed and historically significant Australian print from ST Gill. The artists is well celebrated and we owe a great debt to his practice of capturing popular and everyday themes of the early pioneering days of Colonial Australia. His images of the Victorian Goldfields are of course famously well known.The print is lithographic process with colours also printed in. The print is very possibly an original such example as these were extensively peddled by Gill himself in the late ...19thC and were produced in their thousands.This example safely preserved under glass with the title hand written in ink upon the backing mount.A chip to the gilt moulding to one corner of the frame, and some foxing to the print but mainly to the mounting surround.The frame is approx 30.5cm x 24.5cm the paper print itself is approx 25cm x17cm which is the correct size for a genuine STG Litho print. approx.
