This is an early Tunic of the NorthWest Mounted Police. This tunic has seen some use and has dirt spots as well as missing the buttons on the cuffs and on the left breast pocket. The buttons are backmarked Smith, Wright Birmingham and most are in good shape with a push on a couple of them. This tunic does not have the blue facings as is not uncommon for the earlier red serge uniforms. It was acquired by myself in the 1970's from a well known collector in Moose Jaw, Sask. I did have it ...authenticated along with other MP items by Mr. E. Ursual. It is a very nice piece and one that is not seen very often if at all. I am including 4 NWMP buttons to help in replacing the missing ones. As you can tell one of the buttons has the Kings crown but they are all I have for the NWMP so I hope it helps.
