Here's a very nice example of a US Army Model 1904 Hospital Corps Bolo Knife or Machete with original scabbard. Made by Springfield Armory is dated 1909 and probably saw duty in WW1 and possibly WW2. It's in excellent all-original condition with the factory edge still intact and no pitting or scratches. Doesn't look like it was ever used very much at all. Serial number 7164 and from what I've read they only made about 40, 000 of these between 1904 and 1915. ...; Thick brass "S" shaped guard. Beautiful walnut wood handle with deeply cut finger grooves. Brass lined thong hole. Original leather scabbard marked Rock Island Arsenal 1908 T.C.O. Brass throat and belt keeper swivel are brown lacquered from the factory.
