This Randall knife is an exquisite example of the ingenuity and determination it takes to create a functioning work of art. The 7 inch hand forged stainless steel blade is sharp and ready to take on any challenge in the field. Much like with any professional combat knife, this one is a true fighter. The top 3 inches of the blade are factory sharp. The... green micarta handle has finger grooves for the best and most secure hold possible. A necessity for those who need to rely on a firm grip during their encounters.
Due to the estate nature of this knife, we are unable to ascertain the degree of use. Based on our observations, the knife does not show much sign of use. We do not know whether the knife has been sharpened, however it does have a very sharp edge. Blade is in excellent condition. The micarta handle has a small dent at the bottom and can be seen in one of the attached photos. The leather sheath is original to the knife and has some wear and staining from age. No rips, tears, cracks or any other type of damage can be found on the sheath. The stitching is tight and healthy. This is one truly amazing knife sure to please anyone that holds it. The original stone has some staining from the metal hardware inside the leather pocket, however does not show any signs of use.
Bo Randall made his first knife in the late 1930s, and by World War II, Randall Knives were the best known handmade knives in the world. That level of recognition has not diminished in the sixty some years since. Gary Randall, the present owner took over from his father W.D. "Bo" Randall in the mid 1970s. These are the best known and most noted handmade knives in the world. They have been mentioned in both novels and in histories. No two Randall Made knives are exactly alike, for no jigs or patterns are used in their final construction. Large scale commercial production with this kind of attention to detail is not feasible and that's why knives of this unique quality are not widely available.This is a serious knife with a 7" blade of 1/4" stainless steel.
