This listing is for a fully functional, vintage BATTERY OPERATED BURGER CHEF DOGGIE w/box as shown. This is not a reproduction toy. It is in excellent working order. Colors are clear & bright. Litho & plastic parts are very nice. Clothing is clean. Displays well. No corrosion anywhere. Battery compartment is mint as are the connections. The 8 correct actions of this toy are as follows: (1) Stove top lights up red, (2) Left hand salts the pan, (3) Right hand shakes the pan in a ...sideways motion, (4) Front of the dog's snoot continuously moves up & down as if sniffing the food, (5) Body continuously sways from side to side, (6) Right hand flips the pan to flip the food over...( the original tin litho burger is included ), (7) Eyes move up & down, (8) Ears shoot up in a comical manner. Process is then repeated. Very neat! This is an awesome complex toy sure to delight everyone who sees it in action. This is a "MADE IN JAPAN" toy listed i n Don Hultzman's book, COLLECTOR'S GUIDE TO BATTERY TOYS, copyright 2002, second edition. It is listed on page 38. It is a 1950's era toy made by the Yonezawa Y Co. It has a rarity of 5 on a scale to 10 being the rarest, and a value of $280.00 in C-10 condition without the box. The original box is in average / fair condition. It has a large number of tape repairs. This would make an excellent addition to any collector of B.O. toys. Displays very well. Would make an excellent display to any restaurant, tavern, pub, bar, brewery, kennel or family rec-room decor.
