Original Description:
I don't know the brand as it is unmarked.  It has great metalwork details in all the grinder mechanisms, and the grinder turns freely.  The box, on the other hand, is distressed in all the right ways.  If you notice, where your finger touches the wood above the knob, there is actually a sunken worn area created from years of use.  The base has been worn down significantly as well.  There is a small area at the back of the base that looks like it may have broken... free a long time ago.  The bulk of the metal pieces appear to be iron, with the exception of the trim piece on top, which appears to me to be copper.  
I love the detail and beauty of this piece, and the distressing makes it truly special.
