This auction is for a vintage military service flag that is framed with glass and has a wire on the back for hanging. On the paper on the back is a tag that is marked "The Huber Art Co." which was in Cincinnati, Ohio. The flag has a red fabric border and in the center there is a white fabric panel. At the top of the panel there is a yellow star with a blue edge. Below that is a blue number 3 with a blue star underneath it. At the bottom is a blue number 10...4. All of these figures are sewn with visible stitching. The seller believes that the yellow star represents 3 men who died in war out of 104 men from a community. The "sons in service" flags were used both in World War I and World War II. The service flags with gold stars on them are particularly poignant and truly tell the story of that terrible war and the sacrifices Americans made for freedom. The frame measures 20 inches in height and 13 inches in width. There are some small paint specks on the frame but the flag is in very good condition. The dark areas are reflections from taking the photo and not stains.
