Here is an original US theatrical 1-sheet (27" x 41") movie poster for the Avco Embassy release of one of the great cinematic ghost stories of all time John Carpenter's The Fog (1980). Again Carpenter manages to evoke chills without resorting to graphic gore, maximizing the eerie atmospherics lent by the northern California seaside locations. The veteran cast including Jamie Lee Curtis (then not really a "veteran" but....), Janet Leigh, Adrienne Barbeau and Hal Holbrook (to name a few)... play their cards right in complementing the slow build of tension throughout and like the original Halloween the film benefits from an air of authenticity.
