Condition: Extremely Good Condition for a 120+ year old item. Absolutely No chips, scratches , damages, discolorations. No paint chipsVery little signs of wear . Some gold paint missing on a rim , but not significant .See pictures for more details.
About Maker : The original porcelain factory was founded in 1755 in the town of Poppelsdorf ( currently part of Bonn ) , by Ferdinand von Stockhausen. It changed hands many many times until 1840 when it was purchased and greatly expanded by Mehlem brothers .The company was renamed after their father, Franz Anton Mehlem .At the end of 19th Century, company had a very good reputation and first decorator signed pieces can be found from around 1900 onwards. Quite a lot of Mehlem products were made on special order or were made based on designs from famous artists or teachers at art and craft academies. It was also famous for its “ Royal Bonn “ vases, and Delftware . The quality reproductions of Delftware where so good that even Delft workers respectfully referred to the pieces as 'German Delft'.In 1920 company was sold to Villeroy & Boch .
