An antique French nautical themed anchor lapel pin which can also be used as a pendant. It has the design of an anchor combined with a ship's wheel and has a delicate mesh - like pattern surrounding some stars. Made of metal, it has a nice aged patina to it. This is old, and not a reproduction. It is hollow at the back with two metal wires to thread into a coat lapel or buttonhole. Equally it can be worn on a chain for an alternative use. I'm not sur...e what it represents exactly. I found this at a flea market in the South of France.
It measures 4 cm long by 3 cm wide. It is 3 or 4 mm thick.
It is in excellent antique condition. Due to it being hollowed out, this is not a substantial, heavy piece. It looks as if the metal is a bit bent on the top part just below the eye (to put a chain through) This has been straightened out by myself since taking the photograph. It has an attractive tattoo-style design. Please take a look at my photographs for your appraisal.
