You are bidding on a recapped logic board for vintage Apple Macintosh model 5120 Portable computers in Apple box.
Apple introduced the 5120 Macintosh Portable in 1989 for the staggering price of $7, 300 (equivalent to $15, 236 today). It was the first battery-powered Mac, and although "luggable" might be more accurate than "portable, " it was a smash hit.
During the last two decades I restored and sold more than 50 of these cool computers. I sold my last one last week..., but I still have a small supply of parts. Over the next few weeks I will be selling these parts on eBay.
This listing is for a recapped 5120 logic board, serial number BD9028795. Most Mac collectors know that the logic boards in the computers Apple made in the 1980's tend to have failing capacitors by now. These cause logic board errors, or worse: Sometimes the failing capacitors leak all over the board and cause corrosion. This logic board was professionally recapped several years ago, however, so no leaking or bad capacitors. I tested it when I got it back from the technician who did the repairs. It worked at that time and went onto my spares shelf. But I can't test it now, because I have no 5120 Portable available. So I can't guarantee it.
This logic board will ship in an original padded Apple shipping box specifically made for these logic boards (see last two photos). Inside the USA shipping is FREE.
As I said, I've restored a lot of these 5120 Portables. But this is the only 5120 logic board I have left.
