This old Kenwood receiver was included in an estate we recently purchased. It tucked away in storage and probably hasn't been used in decades. It's in fair cosmetic condition. The chassis is a little dusty but should clean up nicely. The faceplate shows spots with discoloration from years of use (see the area around the FM AFC switch). The knob on the Mode switch was broken in transportation, and while it's holding up well after we've repaired it, it sticks out much further than the ot...her knobs. The tubes all are different (some are American made, others are Japanese, one EL84 is European). I've briefly powered the receiver up for perhaps ten seconds or so. The tube filaments glow and the dial lamps illuminate, but no further testing has been done. This one will make an excellent candidate for electrical restoration!
This is a vintage piece of equipment that's been sitting in storage for many years, possibly decades. When electronics sit for this long without being used, components go bad. Electrical components will certainly need to be replaced, and we simply don't have the time to do this work. Please, don't buy this piece unless you are qualified to do a complete electronic restoration, or are prepared to pay someone to do it for you. Needless to say, it's being sold 100% as-is.
