Vintage Gudgel Miniature House/Dollhouse ~ 1983 Ltd. Ed. Victorian Home #723This super sweet miniature dollhouse was handcrafted by Gil & Margaret Gudgel. These miniature houses are created in a scale of 1/144 in order for the models to be the appropriate size to be used as dollhouse furnishings. The back and side walls can be removed to reveal the interior of the house with rooms and doors all perfectly to scale. The houses have also been used in Christmas village scenes and in mo...del railroad set ups.
This piece is in beautiful condition showing no signs of wear or damage. It measures approximately 3 1/4" x 3 1/4" x 3 3/8" tall. A copy of the original order form for this house is also included which includes a detailed description of the design and style of house.
History of the Gudgel houses:
In 1979, Gil & Marge Gudgel from New York, were asked to make a 1:144 scale Cape Cod style house as a souvenir for the National Association of Miniature Enthusiasts Houseparty. The souvenir was so well received that they began making more of these little houses. All the structures can be opened and have rooms inside, but are not finished inside. If the structure is a special edition or limited edition, it will have a number. Each house was also signed M. Gudgel and G. Gudgel. Gil and Marge Gudgel died in the 1990s and their children, Peggy, Carol, and Tom, carried on the business for several years.
