You offer a textile of pre-Columbian times. It is not a fragment, but part of two methods of use, on the one hand to carry goods over the forehead on the back, on the other to attach goods over the stomach. Today it is often called Faja. Apart from llamas, there were no carrying animals, so almost everything was transported by hand and these textiles were indispensable for everything. These textiles have been found a lot in the river oases of the Nazca culture and probably date from th...e Paracas to the Incas. This beautiful textile shows many mythological and spiritual shapes and figures. So you can find birds, fish, snakes, predator cats trophy heads and other. The depictions are interrupted by zig zag stripes, which are mostly snake bodies or water. Thus, the most revered patterns of pre-Columbian times were daily worn and used as symbols of the faith. These textiles are woven on both sides and have an incredible strength for daily use. So you will find the same representations and different forms. These textiles have small differences but always have the same mythological statements. But the wonderful implementation is unique, such great textiles have no comparison and are very hard to fake! The Nazca people knew exactly what they are doing, we wonder today why such perfect textiles have survived so many hundreds of years!
