Ancient Roman Empire Intaglio Bead Pendant Carved Stone Artifact Emperor Bust

For sale is this old intaglio stone. This piece is carved into a dark stone of some sort. It has the image of a person’s bust on it. These were commonly used in ancient days to seal documents and other things. It would have likely been used with wax, but may have also been used with clay or lead. This piece might have been worn as a bead. It is a beautiful piece!! It is intact with no noticeable cracks or chips that are significant! Don’t pass it up!
It looks to be an ancient R...oman style. However, there are some inconsistencies that concern me. It is carved into a clear stone, which would not have been very common in the Roman Empire. It also seems to carved in a way that is not consistent with others that are ancient Roman. I believe that it is most likely a more modern piece. It still may be antique, and very old, but I don’t believe that it is actually an ancient piece. It is a very high quality piece. It is so beautiful and would look perfect in any collection! Don’t pass it up!
