Today we are thrilled to offer for sale a very RARE and seldom seen 1853 C Charlotte One Dollar Gold coin, inset in an elegant men's pinky ring! This classic and elegant men's ring features a solid and expertly and intricately crafted marked 14k gold setting adorned with a pair of American eagles with inset diamond chips. The pièce de résistance of the ring is the very rare and seldom seen in the open market United States 1853 C $1 gold coin, inset with the obverse (head) side out in the solitaire gold setting. The 1853 $1 gold coin was designed on both sides by James B. Longacre (1794 – 1869), who was an American portraitist and engraver, and the fourth Chief Engraver of the United States Mint from 1844 until his death. This scarce coin is one of only 11, 515 minted at the Charlotte (C), NC mint, which was in operation from 1837 until 1861. The coin appears to be have been inset in the ring undisturbed; the coin's patina appears to be original and not cleaned. Ring presents beautifully and is in very good antique condition, with very minimal wear/tarnishing and patina commensurate with age. This is truly a most wonderful opportunity to acquire a rare antebellum American gold coin which will make a crowning addition to any United States currency collection... perfect for the coin collector in your life (or for yourself!).
