THIS IS AN EXTREMELY POPULAR CLASSIC LP BY JOHN HARTFORD ORIGINALLY RELEASED IN 1971 ENTITLED, "AEREO-PLAIN." AS FANS KNOW, THERE IS NO OTHER ALBUM QUITE LIKE THIS ONE.
EACH AND EVERY SONG IS A CLASSIC. GREAT EXAMPLES ARE, "TURN YOUR RADIO ON, " "BOOGIE, "... "PRESBYTERIAN GUITAR, " "STEAM POWERED AEREO PLANE, " "TEAR DOWN THE GRAND OLD OPRY, " ETC. SEE PHOTOS FOR FULL TRACK LIST (OR SEE BELOW).
IT WAS PRODUCED BY WARNER BROS. RECORDS AND NUMBERED WS-1916. INDICATIONS ARE THAT THIS WAS A STEREO TERRA HAUTE PRESSING WITH THE CLASSICAL PALM TREES- SEE PHOTOS.
THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT THE VINYL RECORD PLAYS LIKE NEW. UNDER A BRIGHT LIGHT I COULD SEE SOME VERY LIGHT SCRATCHES BUT WAS HAPPY WHEN I TEST PLAYED THE VINYL, AND IT PLAYED EXCELLENTLY.
THE ALBUM COVER IS NOT MINT, YET NOT TRUELY BAD EITHER . LIKE MANY COPIES OF THIS VINTAGE ISSUE, THE ALBUM HAS SOME AGE WEAR. UPON FIRST GLACE, I THOUGHT THE SPINE HAD RIPPED, BUT, WHEN INSPECTED, IT IS SIMPLY THE TOP LAYER OF PAPER THAT IS PEALING ALONG THE SPINE. THERE IS THAT LITTLE CORNER ON THE LOWER RIGHT-HAND CORNER OF THE BACK COVER THAT HAS PEALED AS WELL. OTHERWISE, JUST A LITTLE RING WEAR. WHEN I SEARCHED, I SAW MULTIPLE OTHER COPIES OF THIS ISSUE IS MUCH WORSE CONDITION SELLING FOR A HIGHER PRICE.
ALL CONSIDERED, THIS IS QUITE NICE ENTERTAINMENT! IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A COPY OF THIS VINYL THAT PLAYS LIKE NEW AND DON'T MIND A LITTLE COVER WEAR, THIS ONE WILL DO.
