We have for you this rather nice vintage Chinese Bakul Siah (auspicious basket) wood & woven cane 3 tier wedding basket in black & red lacquer with hand painted scenes in gilt paint and was traditionally used by the Peranakan Chinese.
This outstanding wedding basket is in excellent gently used condition with a few marks as shown and some authentic dust is included!
These baskets were used to tran...sport wedding gifts during the twelve days of the wedding ceremony. Each basket is hand numbered by the artist so each hand made item is unique and this great item measures in 14" to top of handle x 10 1/2" wide.
