The fabrics used to make this quilt top were made long ago, in a period covering the last decades of the 19th century and for some time after the turn of the 20th. These are well known fabrics from the era, made in the USA, in those special looking tones of blue, black and grey, some of them with diminutive, some times "s...quiggly" prints.
These fabrics were used by American quilters before feed sacks became popular; this particular quilt top has NO feed sacks as far as we can tell.
There are fabrics that we were not able to post photos of, as we ran out of space. The fabric most used in this top is shown on pic # 7.
It measures 76" across, all along the quilt top, but the right side of this piece is 80" long, while the left side is 84", a 4" difference that is easy to notice on pic # 1, where you can see a little warping of the symmetry on the right side of the quilt top, mostly near the right bottom corner.
The bed is a queen, 80" by 60".
It was pieced by hand: check pic # 12 of the underside.
