A very rare example of a signed Murrle Bennett & Co ring from c1900. It truly is a fabulous ring...pure in its execution with those heart shaped Arts and Crafts corners with the faux rivets in the centre of each.The oval cabochon set opal is wonderfully light and playful, with light blues and oranges flashing with a lovely sea green at times. The combination of this stone and the silver is simply the best I have seen in this design. It is fully marked on the inside of the band with... "950" on one side and the Murrle Bennett maker's mark on the other. Both are beautifully clear and present.This fabulous ring is in very good condition....both the stone and the silver work is in pleasing condition. The band is slightly unrounded but only a little, normal for its age. I love how you can see the workmanship of the jeweller...every piece of silver is hand wrought and you can see the detail so well.
