Signed 8x10 b&w photo of classic 1950's actress Joan Weldon (1930-2021), best remembered from her role of Dr. Pat Medford in the 1954 science fiction film THEM!, the first and greatest of the "big bug" movies of the nuclear era.I am cleaning out a vast collection of horror/science fiction/fantasy autographs acquired through the years, and listing items for which I have duplicates. I began collecting autographs through-the-mail in the early 1990's, and wrote to Ms. Weldon circa... 1994, sending her a letter, a return envelope and a photo from THEM! She kindly signed & returned my photo along with this one, which seems to have been her standard publicity photo. It is inscribed to me, "For Joseph, Warmest regards, Joan Weldon." Ms. Weldon also included a nice typed letter, discussing her career and her favorite roles.I did not see this picture signed, but I have compared it to other examples of her signature on-line, and it seems to match.From a smoke-free home.
