RARE Vintage 1950s BUAERO U.S. NAVY AL-1USN FLIGHT JACKET!! Inherited this elusive AL-1, short-lived flightjacket from my father who was a legal officer and pilot during his militarycareer. (WWII, Korean War, A Bomb experimentand Vietnam). I would keep it but I livein Southern California and will never wear it in this weather. My father loved serving and I know would wanthis jacket to have a good home with someone who can use and appreciate thisjacket.This jacke...t saw service in the US Navy during the Korean War(1950-1953). I’ve heard it was popularamong non-flying officers as well.Made by the DryBak Corporation it is:-alpaca lined-has a fur trimmed hood-cinchable waist-knit wool cuffs and hand pocketliners (both in good shape)-chinstrap-2 flapped hip pockets-tagged a size 40 (Medium)-specification 55J13(aer)contract No N383s-20974 The Drybak Corporation armpit to armpit: 24"shoulder to cuff: 26"shoulder to shoulder: 20"length in back (bottom of collar to bottom hem): 29" Considering it’s age it is in greatshape - no fatal flawsAll the zippers work greatKnit cuffs are in great shape, but there is some fringe tearing onthe outer part of sleeve cuffInside is thick, very soft alpaca lining in mint condition with noodors - Missing a button in frontSome faint shadowy/patina coloration throughout and a few stainsfrom being in actionSmall hole to the bottom right pocket and small tear on inside ofneck.PLEASE SEE PHOTOS AND ASK QUESTIONSIF NEEDED
