From an estate dating back to the 1890’s!Three generations of various items, Watch for a wide variety in following weeks! YOU ARE BIDDING ON a breathtaking Arts and Crafts era Black leather/wood footstool. Pie...ce is marked with the authentic Limberts ARTS and CRAFTS Grand Rapids/ Holland stamp. It is also numbered...hard to read, but appears to be "200 1/2"Charles P. Limbert (1854-1923) was one of the most successful furniture leaders in the history of Grand Rapids and the Arts and Crafts movement in America. The furniture that bears his name is often the most extraordinary examples of Arts and Crafts furniture ever made, and to this day is highly sought after and seriously collected. After several major collaborations in the late 1800's, such as the “Klingman & Limbert Chair Co.” and his own furniture selling commission called “Charles P. Limbert & Co.”, he opened his own name brand company, the “Charles P. Limbert Furniture Co.” in Grand Rapids in 1902.
Stool measures 18.5" L x 10" D x 7.5"H. Estate items are assumed to have been previously used items. There is typical aging of the wood and leather, as would be expected for a piece of this period. Please look closely at photo details, and **SEE one photo with red arrows marking a scuff in the leather*** Some professional cleaning may be preferred due to the age of this vintage period piece, but I will leave that for the winning bidder to decide. I do not know if the leather is original, but it does appear to match photos I have researched of similar era pieces. It is unfortunate that EBAY is getting a bad name now, due to the fact that they do nothing to correct this issue.I am extremely frustrated with EBAY that they are doing NOTHING to stop SO MANY shipping SCAMMERS. Several of the last items that I sold turned out to be purchased by individuals who, once I researched their shipping address, found out that, through GOOGLE, these parties are scamming Ebay sellers. TO COMPOUND the issue, Unfortunately a seller will give positive feedback, upon quick payment, but then its not until weeks later that the buyer SCAMS them and says they never received the item (or it was broken). These buyers are from Vietnam, Russian Federation, Thailand, etc.I wish you luck in your auctions... I will get off my soap box now LOL
