A Beautiful Antique Canton Silk Hand Embroidered Piano Shawl in perfect condition. Circa 1920's.
Black Silk with reversible pink peonies and green leaves.The shawl has a surrounding fringe of hand knotted silk thread which is complete and untangled (although I found that difficult to show in my poor photographs).The whole thing has been very well stored and doesn't appear to have ever been worn.The central silk square measures 38" wide and the knotted fringe is approximately 12" dee...p.This came in with a lot of other textiles from a North York Moors National Park country house so it is as genuine 'Downton Abbey' as it gets.
