Vintage~ Original ~ Enamel SignBenefit Boots and ShoesPublic Benefit Boot CoThis delightful enamel sign for "Benefit Boots and Shoes" dates from around 1900 and would have been attached outside a shop. he Public Benefit Boot Co was founded in 1875 merging with Lennards Boot company in 1905 and taking that name.The sign has the inevitable enamel losses and nibbles to the edges, it has a hole to the left side where it has rusted through whilst on a wall. It also has the usual scuffs, st...ains and scratches that you would expect from an item of this age and use. We have tried to show the condition in the photographs.The red and yellow enamelling to the lettering still has depth of colour and gloss.It measures 49 cm (19 inches) by 33cm (13 inches). We take great care to describe our items clearly and honestly as possible, including any faults or flaws that we may see. The photographs form part of the description.
