Part of a H-U-G-E collection of usable fly-fishing equipment I recently acquired from the estate of a very AVID fly fisherman/fly tier. This is a BERKLEY YMT 200-A ELECTRIC METERING MACHINE for filling fishing reels with line. Why he had this machine I do not know, but judging from some of the other stuff he had, I believe he may have bought out an old tackle shop at some point. I do not know the exact age of this item but believe it is 1950's or 1960's..., as the address on the motor has a Postal Zone, not a ZIP code. The label on the motor reads "DAYTON AC-DC SERIES MOTOR, 115 VOLTS MODEL 2MOS4, HP 1/11 5000 RPM, DAYTON ELECTRIC MFG. CO., CHICAGO 48, U.S.A." The wooden base measures approx. 9" X 24" and the height is 7". I plugged it in and it still seems to work fine. The foot pedal also works well. Due to the excessive weight (over 10 pounds) I will ship it only within the USA. AND I WOULD LOVE IT IF THE BUYER IS LOCAL AND CAN PICK IT UP!!
