A truly remarkable pair of Mid century Italian art pottery candle holders from Bitossi! I don’t recall seeing this shape before- and complex pieces to throw on a wheel, as these pieces have indeed been made.The sides feature ‘sgrafitti’ incised decorations of Paisley like forms among other leaf and floral inspired forms picked out in greens, and a darker blue. The main body of the ware is in the famous and beautifully vibrant ‘Rimini Blue’ for which Bitossi is so well loved....Each stamped ITALY to the base, these are the consummate pieces for the discerning collector- each presenting in fabulous chip and crack free condition!These candle holders stand 16cm, Combined weight 1.45 kilos.We have listed several other pieces of jewellery, silver, decorative art and collectables.
