Antique wooden painted tavern sign. The sign has a wonderful form and old painted surface with fantastic trim and scroll work. There is a chalk tray at the bottom of the display area. It hung on a post in front of a tavern and was then used in a bowling alley. The front was used for a bowling tournament and has the remnants of a score sheet pasted on it (can be removed if you so desire).We found the sign in upstate New York and it was hanging flat on a wall. Fantastic age circa 19th ce...ntury.The sign is 24" wide x 40 3/8" tall and 5" deep. The display area is 20" wide x 27" high.Like us on face book. Finish Line Collectibles.Item ID: 3048
