This is a sweet Vintage Pictorial Tree of Life Navajo weaving, that has just come to me from my parents things. Measures 17" x 14", and has a very tight, soft weave (shown). The pictorial design is done on an open background, which is taupe brown in color. The border designs are dark red and white/cream, with an outside border of black. The six birds range in color from yellow, white, dark red, light blue, beige, and are sitting on a tree which is olive green in color. The base pot, ha...s a lovely graphic design of black and white, with a red line that runs through it horizontally. The top is finished with a similiar design to the pot at the bottom, with feathers on each side. Condition is excellent vintage with no damage, moth nibbles or fade (both sides shown). It is symmetrical, lays flat, retains three out of the four original tassels, and comes from a smoke free environment. A lovely piece, appropriate for a wall, a table, or over the back of a chair.
