This is quite an unusual miniature piece. It is a fireplace screen made out of very thin metal. It has cutouts including what looks like a Satyr on the front, an elegant woman at each end and a fairy on the two foldout base pieces. It is a Greek woodland type scene and maybe the taller figures on the ends are wood nymphs and the smaller figures are possibly cherubs. Lots of detailed scroll work within the design. It is black in color and I am not sure if it is painted or naturall...y that color. It measures approximately 3” wide. This was purchased at an estate sale where the elderly owner had an extensive collection of miniatures.
