Thrilled to have acquired a lovely batch of French textiles from an old upholsters shop closed long ago and stored in an attic for many years. Some are large lengths, some smaller remnants and pieces left from various projects. All magnificent pieces for design work of all sorts.
This length is a gorgeous floral bird and butterfly variation. It has a bit of a lovely Chinoiserie influence in the pattern. Stunning palette of a variety of hues; blues, greens, lavender on a delicious in...tense orange type ground. A "Prelle" textile, hand done. A fine quality Lyon textile, refined, high end. Probably 1950's/60's time period.
Lovely for home pieces as well as clothing elements, bags, patchwork etc..Could also be used for decorative type small upholstery such as chair back or small stool/bench/ottoman. It is mid/larger in scale (but not enormous) and mid density.
I will be listing a similar length in a different palette as well at the time of this listing.

~*It is in good strong condition for it's age, unused & appears overall clean though I have done nothing to it so will be as found and not laundered. I noted just a bit of tanning on the edge from years of storage but is not detracting in the least and should clean well if preferred. There are several lovely bird variations on this piece, one of the photos showing the 2nd bird was too blurred to add so will retake it and add it.
