Notable Features: This Memento Mori piece has its original silk insert and protective cover. The front of the piece holds a Madeira citrine stone at its center and is decorated with rope twists and chasing. The 18k yellow gold front was made using the repousse method and affixed with a gold filled back to better protect the backing from damage. This was a common practice during the Art Nouveau era as gold filled metal was not as easily damaged as gold. Damage: Age appropriate wear. There is some minor denting on the piece which is hardly noticeable and does not detract from the beauty of the piece.
