1880-90'S RH CO. FANCY CAST IRON GLASS TAIL LIGHTNING ROD BALL WEATHERVANE . Meas. approx. 18"L. Features fancy back design with ball front which is original. This arrow did not have a typical arrow point in it's design, rather a ball with happen.. The back glass area held a hand ground ruby red piece of glass in the Hearts & Balls pattern which was leaded in just like a stained glass window. This weathervane was designed to fit the larger star, twisted, or section style ...rod and will also fit the tube type rods and has a 1"D ferrule which will slip easily over almost all tube style rods. Overall condition good. Heavy rust and pitting from 120+ years of rooftop service. Painted black at one time. Photos clearly show ANY and ALL condition issues. USE ZOOM FOR DETAILED DESCRIPTION.
