Antique African Trade Bead Mali Fulani Wedding Glass-bead 925 Silver Handcrafted EarringsThis auction is for a pair of pre-owned and artisan created Mali Fulani Wedding bead drop earrings. The wires, wrapped silver detailing, and silver chain are unmarked 925 silver and are the work of an artisan jeweler. The translucent and opaque teardrop shaped beads are antique African Trade beads; these beads are associated with the Fulani Tribe of Africa. “Mali Wedding Beads” collectivel...y refers to a variety of bulbous and colorful Czech trade beads manufactured in Bohemia (now The Czech Republic) between the 19th and 20th century. Their name derives from the popularity among the Fulani people of Mali, who traditionally present them to their daughters on the eve of her wedding. Mali Wedding Beads are among the earliest types of Bohemian trade beads to be produced using the mechanical pressing method. These old beads are often pitted and blemished.The earring will be packaged in a gift box.
