A vintage Sterling Silver Fob Medal decorated with a gold shield, marked with the inscription - CLARKE 1925 CRICKET CUP. Its reverse has the inscription - MAJOR R.E. VYVYAN. I checked a military site, which informed his full name was RALPH ERNEST VYVYAN - born 1891 - died 1971 - He would have been 23 years old at the start of WWI. The medal has a belt and buckle type border, which is surmounted with a crown and was made by Birmingham Silversmiths - Marples & Beasley. It... is fully hallmarked, including the date code letter Z = circa 1924. It weighs 12 .56 grams and measures 1 3/8" or 34 mm wide and is in very good condition, as shown in photo's.
