FISHER PRICE POPEYE THE SAILOR 1936 WOODEN PULL TOY #703 EXCELLENT COND, WORKS. Here is a rare antique Fisher Price wooden pull toy - Popeye the Sailor! Popeye sitting on a barrel with Sweet Pea. Popeye has movable arms that clang the bell that is attached to the steering wheel. . It measures about 9.50" tall and 12" long. It is marked "Copyright 1929 King Features Syndicate inc, but it was manufactured in 1936. It was only made ONE YEAR. No 703 Fisher Price Toys Made in USA". The pain...t and lithographed paper on this toy are in remarkably good condition with expected light wear. I see no damage to the wood. The decals are all very nice. The toy is in working condition, pull him along and boat rocks and he clangs the bell. The pull string is old, not sure if it's original. There is some oxidation/ very light rust to the bell. This toy has been taken care of for 84 years. The wheels are unpainted by design. The wheels as well as the bottom of this toy are in great condition. It would be hard to find a better one. According to the 2002 Fisher Price Guide this toy was never issued with a box. It was valued 18 years ago at $700 in good condition and $2100.00 in mint condition.
