Period: George IV c1820.
Hallmarks for Roberts, Cadman & Co.
Dimensions: approx 410mm / 16 1/2 inches long.
Condition: Very good, considering age. Some dings, dents and surface scratches. Very little copper bleed but there are some areas across the cover where you can see the beginnings of faint copper tones showing through. A little tarnish that will clear with a polish. The handle is in good condition. An old solder repair to the hanging hook (pictured). Wear commensurate with age and use. Notes: Superb Sheffield plated meat dish dome cover by Roberts, Cadman & Co. Fantastic family crests engraved to both sides of the dome (photos 4 and 5) which are probably for the Mainard family, depicting a right hand with the motto MANUS JUSTE NARDUS.
